Blowing the Grocery Budget

How does anyone (who isn’t Oprah) afford wine? A lot of “average” wine is over $15 a bottle. Humh…serious pairers like myself experiment every night. Even at $10 per bottle that’s $300 a month.
Whatever your budget, here’s a suggestion I picked up somewhere. Adjust it to support your situation.
Daily wines – under $10
Weekly – try a wine that costs between $15-$20
Monthly – make one meal and splurge on a $30ish bottle of wine
Special Occasions like Valentine’s Day – Over $50
Yearly – Go all out and share a $100 and up bottle of wine with someone special
Just remember, knowing the winemaker determines quality more then price does. In my opinion, if you’ve heard about a great winemaker (like Merry Edwards), that’s the way to invest your $45. Lead by reputation, not price.
