Summer Endings
Sep 2nd, 2008 by Alana
September is one of my favorite months. (June is the other.) The weather is cooler and yet still warm enough to enjoy being outside days and nights. My garden is giving me a last batch of tomatoes and carrots. I’m looking forward to planting lettuce and onions soon.
Each September I take a brief road trip by myself. I make no reservations. My only plan is to journal about what I have learned this year and what I look forward to doing next. I examine my family, health, work, spirituality, friendships, and fun/play. My mission is to shed any negativity or disappointments in these areas by finding perspective and to reunite with my optimism. This ritual leads me into fall and winter refreshed and ready for the season of relaxed cocooning.

I love the idea of a personal retreat and “re-uniting” with your optimism. Is wine served
