Celebrate!

Feb 26th, 2009 by Alana

drink-that-bottleIf you wait for…
the perfect occasion,
the right company,
the most important day of your life…
to celebrate with a fine bottle of wine…
that day may never come.
So make that day February 28th. Celebrate your spouse, children, mother, father, health, friends, pet, having a roof over your head, the sunrise, that you have a job, your good health, whatever makes you happy.
Saturday is the 10th Anniversary of Open that Bottle Night.

What did you drink & why?

This is the first time I have heard about Open That Bottle Night, but I love the concept! I am in the process of opening a wine bar in North Carolina – should be open by June – and this time next year, we will definitely have an event at the wine bar for this. You should take a trip to NC and come celebrate this with us.

My husband and I opened a Tantara 2005 Pinot Noir. We lucked up and bought this bottle a while back at a restaurant that was selling directly from their wine cellar at cost so that they could restock with a new wine menu. The philosophy of Tantara is to answer the eternal question, “Why are we here?” Their answer – “To drink fine wine.” And fine it was! Pure velvet on the tongue with a touch of spice, a subtle finish that left you wanting more.

Hope you enjoyed your night as well. Be sure to tell us all about it!

Hi Jean. North Carolina is at the top of my list to visit. My husband has been there and I was very jealous after seeing the pics of waterfalls and autumn-colored landscapes. Please keep in touch so I can visit your wine bar.

I love your description of Tantara…pure velvet on the tongue…fabulous! (I’ll look up the wine and try it!)
