Happy Wine Travelers

Jul 7th, 2009 by Alana

RB Meyer (Copyright enforced)I put together a suggested itinerary for a friend of my Mom’s recently & received this thank you note! Nothing makes me happier then connecting people to my fav places.

Hi Alana,

We got back home late last night after a wonderful trip with Lee’s cousin from Australia, thanks to you!

The places you recommended, we did. First, we checked in at Yountville Inn and enjoyed two nights there.  It was just the perfect set up for us.  Dana (our daughter) and Kay’s room was right next to us and we had two patios together which we enjoyed in the evening with a bottle of wine.  What else?

The first evening, we had dinner at Bottega in V Marketplace.  It was outstanding.  The second night, we had dinner at Bouchon, and it too was outstanding.  They were both walking distances from the Inn.  How convenient.

On Thursday we did the tour at Castella di Amorosa.  We were blown away that there actually was a castle in the wine country and it was so authentic that it could have been in any of the European countries.  Of course, we bought some wine and will save it for special occasions.

Following that tour, we headed to the Culinary Institute for lunch.  Looked around for you, just hoping you might appear!   We dined on the patio overlooking the wineries.

After a great lunch, we spent time and money in the gift shop.  It was such fun. (note from Girl- I told them to leave plenty of time to enjoy the gift shop!)

Our afternoon tour was at Schramsberg.  It was such a contrast from the Amorosa that we enjoyed it equally.  Even the wines were different.  Todd was our guide and he was delighted to hear that you sent us there for a tour.  He said to tell you hello and thank you and to keep sending customers!

We were disappointed that we couldn’t stay longer, but we had to head out Friday morning after breakfast to the family reunion that was being held on the 3rd and 4th of July in Paradise.

I would like to have your address as I have a little something to send to you for all of your help.  No travel agent could have done as well.   Thank you again for everything.  It was just perfect!
