Animals Bring Joy
Nov 22nd, 2009 by Alana

I’m supporting the Marin Humane Society’s SHARE program (Special Human-Animal Relationships). They provide animal-assisted therapy to help seniors and people with HIV/AIDS who still live at home with their animal companions. SHARE volunteers walk dogs, groom cats, transport pets to the veterinarian or the groomer, and deliver free pet food and pet supplies to SHARE clients. (Adapted from their website)
I’ll be delivering holiday care packages. Animals give such joy and unconditional love. I’ve seen first hand how they can alleviate depression & loneliness and help people be happier and stronger.
